The University of Chicago Police Department reported the following incidents between Aug. 5 and Aug. 11

On Monday, Aug. 5, at 12:25 p.m., an individual touched the buttocks of a victim walking on the sidewalk by 54th Place and Harper Avenue. A UCPD officer located and arrested the suspect.

On Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 1:35 a.m., three suspects, one with a handgun, took property from a victim in an apartment building on Hyde Park Boulevard between 55th Street and 56th Street. Area Central detectives are investigating.

On Aug. 6 at 12:05 a.m., two suspects, both with handguns, took a vehicle and property from a victim at 4800 South Greenwood Avenue. Area Central detectives are investigating.

On Aug. 6 at 12:43 a.m., UCPD officers arrested a suspect who hit his girlfriend during an argument near 53rd Street and Dorchester Avenue.

On Friday, Aug. 9, at 2:10 a.m., at 5012 South Woodlawn Avenue, a suspect took a cell phone and purse from a victim. Area Central detectives are investigating.

On Aug. 9 at 12:31 p.m., a laptop was reported stolen from an unsecured file cabinet at the University of Chicago’s Knapp Center for Biomedical Discovery. UCPD is investigating.

On Sunday, Aug. 11, at 2:15 p.m., UCPD officers arrested a suspect for retail theft at the Walgreens by 55th Street and Lake Park Avenue.
