Quentin Coldwater, a Brooklyn high school student is leading an aimless existence until he’s tapped to attend Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy, an exclusive academy where he’s taught magic. After graduation, Quentin and his friends enter a Narnia-like country of Fillory to aid in fighting a war for the royal succession, a heroic quest that turns into a nightmare quite unlike the fantasy novels Quentin read as a child.
